Meaning Behind the Name

Oceanus, in Greek mythology, refers to the God Oceanus, who was the personification of the ocean, which, to the ancient Greeks, was perceived as an enormous river encircling the world. He not only decided to take neither side during the war between the Titans and the Olympians, but instead withdrew from the conflict all together. Oceanus was later referred to as an outlaw to the society of Gods and he did not take part in the typical convention of Gods on Mount Olympus.

Meet the Owner & Creator

My name is Crissy. I started Oceanus Coast to combine my love for paracord jewelry and the California West Coast together, I personally make sure that every bracelet is made to the best quality simply because I hand make every bracelet myself. I solely operate Oceanus Coast and I hope to take this company to new heights to help aid the world in the future.

A little bit about me:

I was born and raised in a small town located in Ohio. Growing up, I quickly realized that I loved making things with my hands. From teaching myself how to knit in middle school, learning how to sew with a sewing machine and dabbling in jewelry making in high school, to teaching myself how to crochet in college and everything else in between. Crafts were my outlet.

The struggle:

I graduated college with a Bachelors degree in Fashion Design and a massive load of student loan debt. I searched hundreds of jobs in the fashion industry and got nowhere. Finding a career job, even at entry level is so difficult these days. I eventually was forced to find a factory/manufacturing job just to pay the bills. Every day I went to work, I always felt miserable, depressed, every day came and left before I realized it, and that my talent was being wasted by not being able to have the time to craft anymore, until one day I decided to change it. I still worked full time, but I had to find a way to make the time to do the things I loved to do and now I share my love of crafts and jewelry making with all of you.

The future:

My ideas for Oceanus Coast’s future goes on and on. I hope to take this company to grow into a way to help aid our beaches, oceans, animals, natural disasters, organizations, and more. Oceanus Coast may be small now, but in time it will become bigger to the point where all of us can make a difference in the world.
